أعلنت حكومة المغرب إطلاق عملية عسكرية في منطقة الكركرات العازلة في الصحراء الغربية على الحدود مع موريتانيا، من أجل إعادة إرساء حرية التنقل المدني والتجاري في المنطقة، مديناً استفزازات جبهة بوليساريو، التي أعلنت بدورها إنطلاق الحرب.
هل سوف تندلع الحرب في الصحراء الغربية بين المغرب وبين البوليساريو؟
وقال بيان إلى وزارة الخارجية المغربية، إن هذه العملية تأتي بعد عرقلة أعضاء من جبهة تحرير الساقية الحمراء ووادي الذهب من قبل البوليساريو، منذ 21 أكتوبر الطريق الذي تمرّ عبره خصوصاً شاحنات نقل بضائع نحو موريتانيا وبلدان أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء.
وفي المقابل، قال وزير الخارجية الصحراوي، محمد سالم ولد السالك لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية، إن الحرب بدأت. والمغرب ألغى وقف إطلاق النار الموقّع في عام 1991. وأضاف، إنه عدوان، مؤكداً أن القوات الصحراوية تجد نفسها في حالة دفاع عن النفس وترد على القوات المغربية.
والنزاع في الصحراء الغربية من أقدم النزاعات في أفريقيا، حيث استرجع المغرب الصحراء من الإستعمار الإسباني في عام 1975، لتتأسّس جبهة البوليساريو بعد ذلك بعام واحد وترفع السلاح مطالبةً بإنفصال الإقليم عن دولة المغرب الغني بالثروة السمكية والفوسفات، ويُعتقد أن فيه مكامن نفطية من الذهب الأسود.
وقد فشلت كل الجهود إلى السلام التي قادتها الأمم المتحدة، لكنها نجحت في فرض إتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في عام 1991، والكركرات منطقة عازلة تقوم فيها قوة لحفظ السلام تابعة للأمم المتحدة، بدوريات بانتظام، بين المغرب وإقليم الصحراء الغربية.
ويقترح المغرب الذي يسيطر على 80 في المئة من مساحة الصحراء الغربية، حكماً ذاتياً للإقليم تحت السيادة المغربية، لكن جبهة البوليساريو تطالب بالإنفصال التام عن المغرب.
وقال بيان الخارجية المغربية إن حركة البوليساريو وميليشياتها التي تسلّلت إلى المنطقة منذ 21 أكتوبر، قامت بأعمال عصابات هناك وإلى عرقلة حركة تنقل الأشخاص والبضائع على هذا المحور الطرقي، وكذا التضييق باستمرار على المراقبين العسكريين للمينورسو، الخاصة إلى بعثة الأمم المتحدة.
وأضاف بيان الخارجية المغربية المغرب قرّر التحرّك في إحترام تام للسلطات المخولة له أمام هذه الإستفزازات الخطيرة وغير المقبولة، من أجل وضع حدّ لحالة العرقلة الناجمة عن هذه التحركات وإعادة إرساء حرية التنقل المدني والتجاري.
وأوضح مسؤول في وزارة الخارجية المغربية، إلى وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية، أن أفراداً من الهندسة المدنية التابعة للقوات المسلحة الملكية المغربية إنتشروا على حوالى 10 كيلو مترات إلى سد ثغرة في الجدار الدفاعي الذي يفصل طرفي النزاع، بهدف منع أي دخول إلى المنطقة.
وكان حوالى 200 سائق شاحنة مغربي وجّهوا الأسبوع الماضي نداء إستغاثة إلى كل من الرباط ونواكشوط، قالوا فيه إنهم عالقون في معبر الكركرات الواقع بين موريتانيا والصحراء الغربية.

On the other hand, the Sahrawi Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, told the French Press Agency that the war had begun. Morocco canceled the ceasefire signed in 1991. He added that it is aggression, stressing that the Sahrawi forces find themselves in a state of self-defense and are responding to the Moroccan forces.
The conflict in Western Sahara is one of the oldest conflicts in Africa, as Morocco regained the Sahara from Spanish colonialism in 1975, and the Polisario Front was established a year later and took up arms, demanding that the region separate from Morocco, which is rich in fish and phosphates, and it is believed that there are oil deposits of black gold. .
All efforts to peace led by the United Nations failed, but they succeeded in imposing a ceasefire agreement in 1991, and Guerguerat is a buffer zone in which a UN peacekeeping force regularly patrols between Morocco and Western Sahara.
Morocco, which controls 80 percent of the area of Western Sahara, proposes autonomy for the territory under Moroccan sovereignty, but the Polisario Front calls for complete secession from Morocco.
The Moroccan Foreign Ministry statement said that the Polisario movement and its militias, which infiltrated the region since October 21, carried out gang acts there and obstructed the movement of people and goods on this road axis, as well as constantly restricting the military observers of MINURSO, which is special to the United Nations mission.

An official at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, to the French Press Agency, that members of the civil engineering of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces spread about 10 kilometers to fill a gap in the defensive wall that separates the two parties to the conflict, with the aim of preventing any entry to the region.
Last week, about 200 Moroccan truck drivers issued a distress call to both Rabat and Nouakchott, saying that they were stuck at the Guerguerat crossing between Mauritania and Western Sahara.
